Circa Nocturna 2010
The Event! by Kirsty on March 15th
With months of preparation it seemed like Circa Nocturna was over in the blink of an eye with the whole trip up, the event and trip back happening in less than 72 hours!
Our small showcase of 6 pieces featured "Hidden Angel' as the last outfit using IR LED's (only visible through photographic medium) which gave great excitement to the members of the audience who realised at the time. (Photos up in the Gallery soon)
The trip started with 6 of us leaving Adelaide by 4WD Friday afternoon and after several stops along the way we finally arrived in Melbourne only 1/2 hour ahead of the other 2 members of our team who drove up after work. Staying in The Nunnery for 2 nights (fortunately only 2 blocks from the venue) we spent every last moment we could getting everyone prepped and ready, only breaking to run to the venue in the rain and have 1 quick run-through on stage before the doors opened.
The 6 minutes the models had on stage and our brief appearance on the catwalk at the end was a huge hi-light for both Marty & I and we look forward to exploring many more ideas over the coming years.
